On the morning of September 22, 2022, Arelie left her Salinas home around 6:34 a.m., deviating from her usual routine. She was expected at work at 7:30 a.m. but never arrived. Arelie sent a loving text to her sister just before 7 a.m., but did not respond to subsequent messages.
Her car was later found abandoned along Highway 1 in Big Sur, locked with her phone, wallet, and keys inside. The driver’s seat was adjusted further back than she would normally set it—raising concerns someone else may have been in the car. Extensive searches have yet to yield answers.
