On 7/24/20, Leila Cavett and her son traveled from Georgia to Florida in her White Chevy Silverado 3500 pickup truck. She was last seen in Hollywood, Florida on 7/25/20 in the surveillance photo shown above at a RaceTrac gas station. At that time she was seen getting into a Lexus sedan. At 8am on 7/26/20, her 2 year old son was found wandering alone in a parking lot outside an apartment complex on South West 67th Avenue in Miramar, Florida. He was barefoot and wearing only a t-shirt and a diaper. Her truck was later found abandoned on 7/28/20 in the Walmart parking lot in Hollywood, Florida. On 8/25/20, 38-year-old Shannon Ryan was arrested and charged with one count of kidnapping in connection with her disappearance. He was allegedly the last person seen with her at the gas station. On 4/21/21, Shannon Ryan was officially charged with second-degree murder and tampering with
evidence. Leila has never been found and her case remains open and ongoing.
