Roy Louis Whited, a beloved pastor, former state champion basketball coach, realtor, and auctioneer, has been missing since May 3, 2024. He was last seen around 4:30 p.m. walking down Lovejoy Road in White County, wearing his signature cowboy boots. Earlier that day, a Ring doorbell camera captured him arriving at his home. 
Roy was scheduled to preach at DeRossett Church of Christ on Sunday, May 5, but he never arrived. Concerned neighbors found his home undisturbed, with his phone still on the charger.  
Extensive search efforts, including helicopters, K-9 units, and hundreds of volunteers, have covered over 2,000 acres, but no trace of Roy has been found. 
Roy is described as a charismatic and caring individual who has positively impacted countless lives in the Sparta community.
